Der Unbemalte Stapel II

At the clamoring of multitudes - well, one - here are a few (really bad) photos of what I was talking about in my last post, taken on the cameraphone, which reduces my usual appalling photography to an even worse state :/

The pile of Austrians I've dragged out to work on looks like this:

This is a fair sample of what I'm being handed as an Austrian Grenadier, but the shape of the bearskin looks wrong (ignore the clearly-focussed painting table please)

And ... this is a Foundry horse? or even Front Rank? I think not, poor wee starved creature that it is

This is a fair sample of the 'Foundry' Austrians, clearly lacking the usual Foundry girth, barrel chest, squat legs and savagely cruel expression of malicious evil ... no wait, that last bit is universal to SYW Austrians of all manufacture, I forgot.

Welcome to EvE and to Arkansas. Glad you got settled in. I live about 4 hours from Little Rock. You and I talked last year about your moving there. Look forward to reading your blog.

Greetings and felicitation from the Reich Duchy of Beerstein. As is our custom, Reich Duke Wilhelm has invested Die alte Aechzener into the Ancient and honorable Order of the Tankard, honoring Heads of State. Welcome to a community...

I believe that the ruler of Frankszonia also resides in Arkansas . . . it seems to be a bit of a hotbed for EvE members.

There are also a number in Texas, I believe. Perhaps you fellows can get together for some games at some point.

Failing that you can have some wars that are fought out in "proxy battles" by other EvE members.

Merry Christmas, y'all . . . and have a great New Year too.

Foundry doesn't have SYW Austrians, just the Prussians and the Russians from the old ranges, and French and British from a new sculptor. That leaves Front Rank and Old Glory from the 'big boys' and if they're really tall, they might be Crusader but I don't know from the photo.

About photos, I've got an inexpensive, older-model digital camera, and it has a close-up mode that is indicated by an icon of a tulip. Maybe yours has the same thing?

I look forward to reading your blog. Have fun and best of luck.

I have a few Foundry minis. From their SYW range I have Brits, Prussians, Russians, and just ordered some French. They all seem to "go together" in terms of bulk and style.
I also have a few minis from their AWI range. These seem a bit "scrawnier" than the SYW minis.
I don't recognize the figures from the pics, so I can't say for sure they aren't Foundry.

Thanks to y'all for your hospitality!

I'm hoping to connect at some point with Duke Augustus and the noble leader of Frankzonia.

and I would be honored to don the Ancient and honorable Order of the Tankard!

Many thanks for the info on Foundry, I'm guessing these are either FR or knockoffs then (definitely not Crusader, I know their figures pretty well)

Let's see, I live a little over three hours drive from Little Rock, and His Highness Augustus lives about four hours from Little Rock (on the far side of it from me ... and probably driving a lot faster than I would, LOL). Now if we can pull in some folks from Memphis and Louisiana ...

Grand Duke Karl of Hetzenberg extends a warm welcome to his noble cousin and invests him with the Freundschaft Order of Hetzenberg.

I'm up in St. Louis, MO, so not that far from Little Rock either. Are we seeing the portents for a grand gathering one of these days? =)
